Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

Our main service is working with you to understand what your wants and desires are and tailoring your journey based on these. I handle all bookings, logistics and pre trip questions.

I also host safaris and expeditions, accompanying clients on their journey as a tour leader and photographic guide.

How do I get started?

Let’s start by getting an idea of where you want to go, what you want to see or experience and your budget, then we then determine the best time to be there. Or you tell me when you want to travel and I recommend a destination based off of the seasons, natural movements of game and birds etc.

What makes you different?

Having lived and travelled in Africa my entire life I have an understanding of the continent very few people have. I still live in Africa and am therefore in the same or similar time zone while you are on safari. This is crucial for sorting out any situations that may arise during your trip that need urgent attention.

Is traveling to Africa safe?

The short answer is yes. I will not recommend you go anywhere unsafe.

Travelling anywhere always comes with potential risks but these are mitigated by knowing where and when to go and dealing with someone who lives on the continent and keeps up to date with current events.

Should you require I can join you on your journey for added security.

I do always recommend all clients have comprehensive travel insurance cover and medical evacuation insurance.

Is it more expensive booking through Scout Expeditions than booking with lodges directly?

No! It will always be cheaper when booking through Scout Expeditions than booking directly. And you can enjoy your trip with the peace of mind that every detail has been organised for you. In addition to this your logistics is handled seamlessly from start to finish and you have the added benefit of someone with decades of experience travelling in Africa to answer all your questions before and during your journey.

Do you accompany clients on their safaris?

Completely up to you. I accompany many clients on their journeys, this obviously costs extra but comes with peace of mind that you are travelling with an extremely experienced guide who was born and has lived in Africa his whole life. I also host photographic trips, taking professional grade images of the animals, landscapes, birds etc that we see on our journey so you can enjoy the sighting and show your friends and family what you saw.

I can also take photographs of clients themselves while on safari, popular for special occasions, multi generation family holidays etc.
